Digital Property Branding for Al Jazeera Media Network
Project Scope
Principal visual designer for Game Of Our Lives, Jetty's latest podcast about football and global politics. In the months leading up to the show's launch, I worked closely with the producers and editors of the show to develop a visual language system that would communicate the themes and overall tone of the show across various digital platforms.
For this podcast launch my involvement extended beyond designing visual assets. I was closely involved in content strategy for the website, as well as animating weekly content for the show's Facebook Watch page.
Process
It was important to convey that this show is not a typical sports recap show, but rather a series of in-depth conversations about sociology, politics, and history understood through football. The final art direction was adapted from a series of vintage football posters; the inspired system uses cropped photography of soccer players to communicate the theme of soccer and suggests a sense of action, while tonally evoking historicity and academia.
